Aviemore Classic

For ten year freshwater sailors have been gathering for this Labour weekend event.

These events on Lake Aviemore have been attracting a mixture of competitive yachties and cruising families.

Organised by the Timaru Yacht and Power Boat Club, this event is sponsored by ECNZ.

The main race is on Sunday, with novelty and other races over the three days.

After racing, boats return to the safe companionship of the Otematata Boat Harbour.

Where heroic tales can be retold amongst the campsites into the late evening.
